2 Mil Polyimide Films are flexible and have high resistance to temperature. They provide a high performance, and are usually preferred over polyester. The difference between the 2 Mil and the 1 Mil is that the 2 mil films are better for mechanical uses. As they are a bit thicker, they have more strength. They work best in a temperature range from -200°C up to 260°C. Due to their high endurance in temperature, they are used in a variety of different applications, such as smartcards, smart conductors, and in both general manufacturing and automotive industries.
Applications:
- Insulation for transformers and dry motors
- Insulation blanketing and tubing
- Electronic and mechanical parts
- Automotive manifolds and diaphragms sensors
