What is Kapton Tape?

It is made of polyimide film as its base material, which is coated with the silicone pressure-sensitive adhesive on single side. The adhesive tape shows excellent electrical properties and outstanding resistance to high temperature as well as cold endurance.

1 Mil Kapton Tape

1 mil Kapton Tapes are basically come with a backing film with a silicone based adhesive coated on the back. Due to their resistance to high temperature, they are used in various ways and in multiple industries. They can withstand temperatures as high as 260°C or 500°F and a minimum temperature of -273°C or -459°F. There resistive and insulate properties are mainly the cause of the polyimide film backing coated with pressure sensitive silicone adhesive.

Product Code: CA1084A

RoHS Compliant

Applications:

  • Electrical Insulation
  • Used for Mechanical and Electronical Parts
  • Fiber Optics Cables
  • Wave soldering process
  • Insulation Blankets and Tubing
  • Etching
  • Masking and Insulating Circuit Boards

CA1084A is applied to mask gold fingers, tab areas, and other sections of printed circuit boards or devices during the wave soldering process. CA1084A uses a silicone adhesive for the most demanding high temperature applications. Its adhesive is specially formulated to hold down and protect the surfaces during high temperature operations, yet remove cleanly from the protected surface without splitting or leaving adhesive residue.
